PATH Facilitator Training 2009

In addition to conducting PATHs with families and individuals, Belconnen Community Services is pleased to announce that they are hosting PATH facilitator training workshops in partnership with Disability ACT. This workshop series provides participants with the training and development they need to become confident, qualified PATH facilitators and graphers in the PATH process.

Who can be a PATH facilitator or grapher?
You may be a family member or working in disability support. You may be a teacher, social worker or health professional. Or you may just be interested in helping people with disabilities to plan their futures. We are looking for people who answer YES to the following questions:

  • Do you enjoy working with people, have lots of enthusiasm and some time to share?

  • Are you interested in broadening your links within the community?

  • Are you interested in helping people with disabilities to plan their futures?

  • Are you comfortable talking to a group of people?

What will I get from this course?
At the end of the training you will:

  • Understand the PATH process and each of the Facilitator roles (PATH Facilitator and Grapher).

  • Think in different ways about recording information, planning and problem solving.

  • Be able to perform either of the facilitator roles through lots of practise in a safe environment.

What do I need to bring to the course?

  • A commitment to attend and participate in every session.

  • A desire to learn new skills and help others.

  • An intention to use your new skills to deliver the PATH program to people with disabilities.
